Description for 2024/25

This module focuses on the key nursing skills of appropriate clinical judgment and decision-making in nursing practice which are core to the role of the competent registered nurse. Students will develop their knowledge of assessment tools to assist them in making safe judgments about people¿s healthcare needs relating to their field of nursing.

Aims
to enable you to demonstrate critical thinking, decision-making and team-working skills to manage and provide continuity of person-centred care in partnership with people with healthcare needs, their families and carers.

Study hours

Breakdown of active learning hours:
In situ- 11.5hrs / Synchronous-11.5hrs (Lectures, discussion, seminars, tutorials, workshops, assessment preparation)
Asynchronous- 7hrs (Guided independent study including preparation for scheduled sessions, follow up work)
Breakdown of independent study hours-
Independent study- 120hrs (Wider reading, revision, assessment preparation)
