Description for 2024/25

This module introduces students to a variety of contemporary issues in accounting by engaging with theoretical perspectives and empirical research. Content covered in the module will vary as conditions change, but may include intangible assets, narrative reporting, corporate social responsibility and other current topics discussed by the accounting profession, policy makers and academics. The module develops students¿ awareness of important developments in accounting research and their implications for accounting practice, providing them with key transferable employability skills.

Aims
This module aims to introduce students to contemporary issues in accounting by engaging with the theoretical perspectives and empirical research, to develop students' awareness of the important development in accounting research in relation to accounting theories and their implications for accounting practice.
