This 15-credit module is compulsory for students on the MChem, Chemistry Single Honours, Major route Chemistry and Major route Medicinal Chemistry programmes; and a programme elective for dual honours Chemistry and Medicinal Chemistry students. Students will carry out an individual project in a themed area in consultation with an academic supervisor and present their results in a variety of formats including a scientific paper, laboratory diary and oral examination.
Aims
This module aims to develop research skills in chemistry, specifically experimental and instrumental skills, development and selection of appropriate research methodologies, data interpretation and analysis and scientific methods of presentation.
