Students must have successfully completed the Applied Research Module NUR-40118, before undertaking this module
Students will create an independent research report, utilising the theme, 'In search of a perfect healthcare system', making recommendations to inform the provision of health services applying learning from other healthcare systems. The module takes a blended learning approach to meet the needs of students in professional roles.
Aims
To undertake a research report based on a real-life organisation / country / system, drawing on theoretical underpinnings and experiences from previous learning on the MSc Global Healthcare Leadership programme.
Intended Learning Outcomes
critically appraise different research methodologies;: critically examine worldwide global drivers for change, comparing and contrasting healthcare systems;: critically appraise and synthesise relevant literature, creating themes;: critically discuss theoretical insights that underpin the research report;: critically analyse and evaluate independent research findings in a clear and consistent format;: make innovative recommendations for enhancing future healthcare delivery, based on learning from other healthcare systems.:
Active Learning:12 hours of synchronous supervision.288 hours for independent work on producing the report. Taking into consideration that students have different needs and learning modalities, they might dedicate the following approximate number of hours to each of the following components: 1.Searching and reading the relevant literature on the selected topic- 50hrs2.Collecting the data from the selected resources- 40hrs3.Analysing the data- 50hrs 4.Writing the final report including all its sections- 148hrs
