This module aims to provide students with an understanding of advanced topics in cyber security and engage students in an in-depth study of the state of the art of an area of cyber security. It will cover recent and emerging advances in cyber security areas such as cryptography, encryption, network security, distributed systems security, human factors in cyber security and privacy at an advanced level. The module will be assessed with a group project that also aims to develop critical analysis and academic writing skills.
Aims
To provide students with an understanding of advanced topics in cyber security and engage students in an in-depth study of the state of the art of an area of cyber security.Topics covered in this module include a selection of recent and emerging advances in cyber security areas, network security, distributed systems security and privacy.The module also aims to develop critical analysis and academic writing skills. Students will carry out a group project in an advanced cyber security topic, experiencing and developing team working skills.
Intended Learning Outcomes
