Description for 2024/25

This module will complete the journey of exercise prescription from healthy populations, to those at risk and finally patients with a long term condition. The theoretical content in this module will allow students to continue working towards a nationally recognised qualification on completion of degree.

Aims
The module aims to offer students the opportunity to develop treatment, assessment and intervention skills for a long term condition and work towards a nationally recognised qualification. Students will be able to prescribe and adapt exercise therapy programmes based on core components and standards of professional bodies.

Critically analyse exercise guidelines for a pre-defined long term condition: 1
Critically evaluate the effectiveness of an exercise programme: 1
Critically analyse the rehabilitation needs of an individual with a long term condition: 1
Apply theoretical understanding and knowledge to safely progress exercise programmes: 1
