Description for 2024/25

This module is designed for students with professional working proficiency in French who have completed French 10 or equivalent (CEFR B2+).
This module allows you to continue with your development as a user of French. It equips you with the tools to communicate effectively in a variety of situations and helps you communicate effectively in the most complex situations, both in social and professional environments.
The language level of this module corresponds to Level B2+ leading to Level C1 in the Common European Framework.

Aims
This module is designed for students with professional working proficiency in French language who have completed French 10 (or equivalent CEFR B2+).
The module aims to consolidate and enhance existing French language skills to enable students to engage in colloquial, academic and professional discussions and exchanges; to understand detailed and complex information reliably, and to recognise different styles and registers used in various contexts. It is also designed to enhance and further develop students' understanding of the French speaking world culture, history, and contemporary issues.

Intended Learning Outcomes

Present clear, well-structured oral texts, expressing points of view at some length, presenting detailed descriptions of complex subjects, integrating subthemes, and developing points in a variety of contexts: 3

Admission to the module must be confirmed through completion of a language level self-assessment form.
Students are only permitted to take one French language module per semester.
