The module is developed for law graduates starting out on their pre-qualification journey of professional legal education and focuses on developing technical and practical proficiency through innovative learning methods. This is module develops competency in the practice-based application of the law and rules of ethics across the following practice areas: Business Law & Practice Dispute Resolution (with contract and tort) Public & EU Law, Legal Services & Legal Systems Property Practice (with land law) Criminal Law & Practice, and Wills and Administration of Estates (with trusts and solicitors accounts), with the aim of developing Functioning Legal Knowledge within the meaning given to the term in the context of the Solicitors Qualifying Examination.
Aims
The learning objectives are directed to the development, and criteria for assessment of achievement are directed to the measurement of competency (to the level of a competent newly qualified solicitor in practice) in the identification of relevant core legal principles and rules for the module practice areas and their appropriate and effective application to produce a solution which best addresses the needs of the client and reflects the client¿s commercial or personal circumstances.

Description of Module Assessment
1: Multiple Choice Questions - Knowledge weighted 100%Multiple Choice assessment reflective of SQE 1 examinationA summative MCQ adopting a 'single best answer' assessment approach reflecting current practice of the assessment organisation appointed by the Solicitors Regulation Authority. It will cover the areas within the syllabus set by the SRA.
The examination is online with automated feedback. It will comprise two sets of 90 MCQ, Solicitors Legal Knowledge test 1 and test 2.
