This module is designed to offer students the opportunity to examine in depth the relationship between the carer and the cared for person. It will examine how the law impacts on that relationship, supporting carers but also taken sanctions in actual and potentially abusive situations. It considers the ethics of care, conflicts in caring and the role of carers in wider society.
Aims
To examine the role of carers in relation to adults safeguarding and gain understanding of relevant law, practice and research literature.
