Creative Arts and Humanities in Society is a 15-credit compulsory core module for the Liberal Arts degree programme. It will equip you with a theoretical knowledge and understanding of creativity and enable you to build on your understanding of the connections and complexity between art and culture, and social and historical processes. The module provides you with an opportunity to develop your own creative practice as well as introducing you to examples of the creative arts and humanities in society which you will explore through a range of case studies focussing on the arts in the community.
Aims
To explore how human values are closely related to the Arts and creativity in general.To explore the contribution of the Arts to culture, education, self-expression, and public life.To explore the nature of the creative process.Through the Arts, explore possible interactions and interconnections between people, commerce, culture, space and form.
