This module is available to combined honours students registered for the 4-year 'with international year' degree programmes IN the School of Life Sciences.(1) Average marks of 60% at level 4 and semester-1 of level 5 if applying for the first round(Jan/Feb) and/or 60% of average marks at level 4 and level 5 when applying to be considered asreserve applicants (June/July);(2) Must not have any reassessments where marks will be released after GOT deadlines (e.g.,when aiming to be considered for the reserve list);(3) At least 20% of your modules in the host organisation(s) must be programme specific;(4) Must have approval of school (study abroad tutor's agreements) in place in advance
This module allows students to complete a year of study related to their degree programme in an approved institution in another country. Such study may include components relating to the learning or further development of a foreign language and cultural engagement, in addition to the study of the students's core subject in an international context. The topic that students will study will be appropriate to the FHEQ Level 5 or higher and agreed between the student and his/her School's Study Abroad Coordinator prior to the start of the international year.
Aims
This module aims to:1. provide students with the opportunity to enhance their personal and professional development as a student, with an appreciation of the international dimension of their subject;2. gain experience of a different culture, academically, professionally and socially.

Students must adhere to the host academic organisation(s)' rules and regulations at all time. Their study hours will usually be split between directed and non-directed (private) study, laboratory practical or workshops, etc. As modules are designed and offered by our international partner institutions the scheduled learning/teaching hours could vary.
Description of Module Assessment
1: Portfolio weighted 100%PortfolioSchool of Life Sciences Requirement: Students must produce a portfolio of 1000 words to School and explain about what they've learned during their semester abroad including, lectures, assessments and other relevant educational experiences such as field courses, workshops or laboratory sessions. You must reflect on how this experience will have helped you moving forward.
Should students require to login an EC, they must be using e-vision to log in their mitigating circumstances as required and advised by the school.
