Description for 2024/25

This optional module helps you to develop your professional skills required for your next steps following graduation, you will produce a portfolio, evidencing your skills, attributes, and professional qualities. You will have the opportunity to practice your interview techniques and presentations skills to support your personal statements and CV.
You will also develop your professional social media profile and learn how to join the online employment and opportunities marketplace.
You will explore the impact of discrimination and unconscious bias and reflect on your practice.
You will reflect on your own mental and physical health and investigate strategies to maintain your well-being

To provide students with a structured programme to further develop employability and professional skills.
To guide students toward techniques to build self-care, resilience, and well-being.

Description of Module Assessment

1: Online Tasks weighted 50%
My Employability Programme
students must complete the Keele Careers "My employability programme". 24 tasks, grouped into 8 categories are completed online including, self-awareness, career possibilities and decisions, workplace skills, hunting for jobs, CVs and applications, interviews and offers, preparing for work, and career well-being. Completion of this programme also gains an award to add to the students' portfolio of evidence.

2: Reflective Diary weighted 50%
Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
Students will complete a 500 word diary reflecting on the changes to their knowledge and practice throughout their studies. This will include their perceptions around EDI and how they have developed their skills to meet the Keele graduate attributes.
