Description for 2024/25

If you have an idea for a new business venture, this module provides you with the time, space and expertise to develop it. You will work in the Smart Innovation Hub and will have access to a range of workshops and advice from experts who have successfully developed new business ventures. You will also have access to a network of entrepreneurs and business advisers to help you to utilise your time to full advantage.
This module does not require students to register a business. However, during the course of the module students may register a business but international students who require a Study Visa to undertake the programme in the UK (including Tier 4) are not able to register a business due to UK Home Office (UKVI) restrictions. If a student has existing Immigration permission (visa) to be in the UK, they may be able to carry out entrepreneurship activities depending upon the specific conditions of their visa category

Aims
The aims of this module are:
- to provide students with the opportunity to start to develop their business ideas into a live enterprise project.
- to develop a full business plan and related activity to enable the successful launch of a new business.
