This module looks more closely at the role of management in organisations. It will provide practical skills informed by current academic thinking on management. The module will cover a range of different topics such as ethics; risk management; sustainability; Corporate Social Responsibility; business continuity; environmental impact; legal issues, employee relations, etc. considering how these impact on the role of the manager.
Aims
To engage with a range of challenges that impact on the performance of organisationsTo provide an understanding of issues in customer care and the enhancement of customer service, in terms of design, operations and performanceTo gain insight into the different operations of the organisation with particular focus on operations, procurement and supply chain managementTo understand corporate governance and responsibilityTo explore different governance mechanismsTo appreciate the concept of risk and risk management
