Description of Module Assessment

1: Project weighted 70%
Individual creative project
Students need to produce one or more pieces of project work, totalling about 4 minutes, which demonstrate their creative practice. These may include but are not limited to: music composition in any style and genre, music production, music performance, social media works, commercial sound works, experimental methodologies etc. The project work(s) will employ techniques and ideas covered during the module's lectures, workshops and tutorials, as well as drawn from the student's own creative practice background. These project will be assessed on the musical and/or compositional, and/or technical skills and/or aesthetics demonstrated as decided as most relevant by the student. It should be documented and submitted as uncompressed audio (WAV / AIFF) or compressed video (MP4 or other standard widely playable container file) deemed as most appropriate to document the nature of the project work.

2: Report weighted 30%
Critical reflection ¿ Report
Students will submit an accompanying report of about 1000 words demonstrating thorough critical reflection and contextual understanding to their own creative practice and aesthetic objectives when undertaking their project. They should illustrate briefly the aesthetics and inspiration/background of the work and also reflect on the strengths and weaknesses of their specific creative practice methodologies and making suggestion for improvement where applicable. The document has to be submitted as a text with supporting images as necessary.
