The Dissertation module invites you to consider music, sound and associated arts in relation to the world of ideas, research and practices. The world of Music Production and Sound Design is not only a practical one: there are many experts in music and sound producing research regarding the use of technology in the contemporary world, the creation and dissemination of music and sound in the digital arena, psychological aspects of sound and music, the impact of soundscapes, the creation of sound applications for the health industry, the impact of sound design on the human mind and emotions, among other fascinating topics. The sky is the limit! In conjunction with your supervisor, you will design a project and develop research techniques, methodologies and strategies to complete this project. The final dissertation will be an important demonstration of your versatility as a professional of music and sound, as well as your level of written research. It has the potential to open doors for postgraduate study and can be utilised as a public-facing example of your employability.

Intended Learning Outcomes

Students must take at least ONE ISP module (MUS-30055 or MUS-30059). They can also take both these modules.
