Description for 2024/25

This module will provide students with the opportunity to explore the competencies related to evidence informed practice and research skills to develop a project proposal plan. This will be the foundation to support a substantive independent piece of work towards your chosen Masters programme (MSc Global Healthcare Leadership, MSc Nursing, MSc Midwifery). The programme takes a blended learning approach to meet the needs of students in professional roles and encourages collaborative practice and inter-professional learning.

Aims
To develop knowledge and understanding of the fundamental principles of applied research methods. To develop skills in the synthesis of literature and appraise differing research methodologies to support the interpretation of research.

Intended Learning Outcomes

demonstrate a critical understanding of the research process and differing research methodologies applied to one's own scope of professional practice;: 1

Study hours

10 hours in situ teaching (2 weeks) to include the Module launch and presentation of research topic ideas.
