Description for 2023/24

Through this module you will develop a critical rationale for your teaching practice drawn from reflection on what works in certain contexts, and why. This module exposes you to the principles of teaching and learning within the healthcare arena with opportunities ranging from personal experience, the experiences of others, observation of teaching, feedback from having your own teaching observed, themed class discussion, practical and task-related discussion with peers, and relevant reading.

Aims
To provide a course of study which offers intellectual challenge, both academic and professional, by promoting skills of critical analysis, evaluation and problem solving in relation to health and social care education.
To prepare you to be able to organise, co-ordinate and lead learning activities in an educational setting.

Intended Learning Outcomes

Demonstrate effective professional and inter-professional working relationships to support learning for a range of students in learning environments;: 1
Facilitate learning within a context of practice and critically evaluate your approach to developing an effective learning environment that supports achievement of professional body standards of proficiency;: 1

Asynchronous- 18hrs (Guided independent study including preparation for scheduled sessions-flipped classroom, follow up work, micro teach preparation, discussion blogs)
