You will develop your knowledge and awareness about the journey from research paper to impact internationally and/or nationally. You will demonstrate your understanding of the wider implications of the research you discuss in terms of care provision, economical and/or social/political ramifications. You will:Develop your understanding of research evidence and your critical awareness of current issues. Develop new insights into your disciplinary topic by focusing on a topic of particular interest to you including national strategy and the efforts being made by the health service to address it. Reflect on the differing perspectives and the needs of key stakeholders, including users of service and carers, organisations, and different professional groups, making sound recommendations to enhance future care provision. You will take part in seminar discussions, have exposure to external/internal speakers, workshops/lectures around research outputs and outcomes.
Aims
To enhance your knowledge and application of topical or emerging research evidence within your field of practice to influence policy and your analytical skills in selecting, reviewing and synthesising research evidence. You will consider the needs and balance the interests of different stakeholders within the context of contemporary health care and ongoing debate.
Intended Learning Outcomes
Comprehensively explore the evidence base within an area of topical or emerging research within your discipline and evaluate, synthesise and present the findings, taking into consideration the views and needs of relevant stakeholders.: 1Critically evaluate current care provision within the area under review, by drawing on a critical evaluation of relevant literature and identify areas requiring/not requiring improvement, demonstrating synthesis of research and practice.: 1Provide extended justification and strategy to convey meaning and purpose by demonstrating advanced communication skills with specialist audiences.: 2Select and critically evaluate current issues integrating relevant context, concepts and data with use of digital technology, to articulate and provide education around the issue successfully to the relevant professional audience.: 2

Description of Module Assessment
1: Review weighted 50%2500 word policy briefing reviewDrawing on emerging/topical research within health care settings, write a 2500 word policy brief review using the Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology (POST) framework.
2: Presentation weighted 50%Present an e-learning platformYou will build a linked e-learning platform to disseminate the findings of your policy briefing review for professional education taking no more than 10 minutes to complete.
