Description for 2024/25

This module forms part of the MSc (pre-registration) Occupational Therapy programme at Keele which is an innovative programme of study which prepares the graduate for diverse practice settings.
Practice Based Learning 3 builds on previous practice based learning and content covered earlier in the MSc Occupational Therapy programme. It enables the student through occupational therapy practice to further enhance and apply knowledge and skills. The module aims to prepare the student to work in contemporary and diverse settings whilst also developing transferable skills (i.e. multidisciplinary team working, leadership and advance communication) that can be applied in a variety of settings and specialties.

Aims
This module aims to offer students the opportunity develop effective and advanced communication skills and apply and critically analyse the Occupational Therapy Process and to a specific area of Occupational Therapy practice.
The module will enable the student to review and evaluate their personal and professional development.

Intended Learning Outcomes

Study hours

18 tutor-led active learning hours which includes:
~3 hours lectures
~15 hours practical workshops.
7 hours of independent study including:
~ 7 hour of directed study
225 hours of placement learning
