Description for 2024/25

This module forms part of the MSc Occupational Therapy (pre-registration) programme at Keele which is an innovative programme of study which prepares the graduate for diverse practice settings.
The module brings together the concepts of health promotion, primary and secondary prevention and health behaviour change. Students explore the factors which affect health and wellbeing and also the theories, models and principles which underlie health behaviour change. Health promotion strategies are evaluated.

Aims
To deepen the student understanding of health promotion, primary and secondary prevention, and health behaviour change.
To equip the student with the knowledge and skills to analyse health promotion strategies in the context of behaviour change theories, models and principles.

critically analyse the concepts and constructs of selected health behaviour change theories and models: 1
