This module will introduce you to a range of professional issues, practice approaches and theories to enhance your understanding of the practice and theory of counselling, through class teaching, group discussion and working with peers and tutors. It will also provide you with the opportunity to develop self-awareness and an enhanced ability to offer the Rogerian core conditions, in preparation for work with clients. Throughout the module, you will be invited to reflect on your own personal and professional development, and to engage in reflexivity in relation to your research project.
Aims
To support the personal and professional development of full-time and part-time MSc in Counselling and Psychotherapy students, as required by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

Intended Learning Outcomes

12 x 5 hours (60 in-situ hours total) interactive lectures or workshops.90 hours private study and reflection, including completion of formative reflective diary.
