Description for 2024/25

The Practicum II Module will enable you to reflect on your practice and personal development, as a Person-centred Trainee Therapist. Through your engagement in Personal Therapy and Supervised Counselling Practice with members of the Public, you will have opportunities to consider how your work as a therapist might impact on clients, yourself and the relationships between you. Areas for development as well as reflections on your strengths as a Trainee Person-centred Therapist, will be reflected in your Supervision Reports. You will continue to apply your knowledge of how to work within the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions in the context of a Counselling Placement.

Aims
The Practicum Part 2 module builds on the learning, and personal and professional development achieved in Practicum Part 1. It aims to help students further develop the practical skills, the theoretical understanding of practice issues, the personal and professional qualities and attributes, the self awareness and the experience on placement necessary to become a qualified counsellor.
