Description for 2024/25

This module is for MSc students to gain experience and develop their employability skills in an applied setting during their course. You will take part in an interview with a member of the module team and work to secure a placement relevant to your interests and specialism prior to the start of the semester. What your placement will look like will be agreed between you, the module team and your placement organisation. You will be expected to visit your placement on approximately a weekly basis for around 30-50 hours during the semester. On the module we will encourage you to consider your psychological knowledge and expertise and how these can be applied to your placement and also the skills you have developed during your placement.

Aims
This module provides an opportunity for students to gain experience in an applied setting relevant to their specialism. They will be supported to apply for and gain a placement opportunity, including developing CVs. It is designed to help them to gain confidence and develop their organisational and professional interpersonal skills. It will also provide students with an opportunity to understand how their skills and expertise can be utilised in an applied setting and encourage them to actively reflect on their future aspirations.
