Description for 2024/25

This module is the clinical placement module for the first year of the BSc (Hons) Radiography (Diagnostic Imaging) programme where students start to apply the theoretical concepts of radiographic practice into everyday clinical practice. The student will complete assessments in plain radiograph imaging and will reflect on their learning experiences.

Aims
This module will enable the student to develop and refine skills attained in radiographic positioning, patient care and multi-disciplinary teamwork, in the clinical environment. This will be achieved with structured support from practice educators and under supervision from appropriately qualified staff, including in a relevant external setting.
The module will enable students to reflect on their personal and professional performance and behaviour in a clinical setting, and to modify their practice accordingly with appropriate support.
The student will develop their radiographic knowledge and skills primarily in general radiography but will also have exposure to theatre radiography, fluoroscopy and cross-sectional imaging modalities.
