BSc (Hons) Radiography (Diagnostic Imaging) programme level 4
The aims of the module are to identify and explore the application of magnetic resonance imaging, ultrasound, mammography and computed tomography at the band 5 level. The module explore and focuses on the role of the radiographer in the ever-changing environment of health promotion.
Aims
The aims of the module are to identify and explore the application of magnetic resonance imaging, ultrasound, mammography, and computed tomography will be explored including the impact on the service user undergoing these examinations. This will prepare students to work in these modalities when they begin working at band 5.
Intended Learning Outcomes
Evaluate the role of the radiographer within a multidisciplinary team while undertaking person-centred magnetic resonance imaging, ultrasound, mammography and computed tomography examinations at the band 5 level: 1Discuss the range of techniques required in magnetic resonance imaging, ultrasound, mammography and computed tomography at the band 5 level and their appropriate application: 1Explain the theory behind undertaking a range of examinations requiring adaptation of technique and supplementary projections, under appropriate supervision: 1Explain the needs of service users whilst working safely in magnetic resonance imaging, ultrasound, mammography and computed tomography at the band 5 level: 1Demonstrate an understanding of, and evaluate, the role of the radiographer in health promotion: 1
Active Learning Hours~ 30 hours face to face/ online teaching - a mixture of workshops and lectures ~ 10 hours practical sessions. 110 hours of independent study including ~30 hours of prep for and completion of assignment, ~20 hours preparation for practical sessions, and ~60 hours self directed study.
