Completion of level 4 modules.
This module develops the image evaluation skill of the undergraduate incorporating adapted technique images and the cross-sectional modalities and complex modalities/ imaging. This module will enhance the undergraduate¿s appreciation of anatomy, physiology and pathology allowing development of knowledge in both sensitivity and specificity values of imaging modalities for specific clinical questions.
Aims
This module aims to further develop image evaluation skills of the student incorporating multiple imaging modalities, complex imaging protocols with a specific focus on adapted technique, CT and MRI neurological imaging and trauma imaging projections.
Intended Learning Outcomes
Critically evaluate imaging requests and explain the appropriateness of additional and/or adaptive technique relevant to clinical history and presentation.: 1Assess the diagnostic quality of images, appreciate common artifacts and techniques to reduce their impact both in the general and cross-sectional specialities.: 1Use appropriate radiographic search strategies to recognise and describe common injuries, pathologies, and anatomical variants of the appendicular and axial skeleton.: 1Evaluate, identify, and describe common pathologies on CT head scans.: 1Evaluate, identify, and describe common pathologies on MRI neuro and MSK scans.: 1
