Description for 2024/25

The module builds on research knowledge and skills introduced in Year 1 and Year 2. Either individually or in small groups apprentices will conduct a small-scale research study, audit or similar project. They will collate, input, manipulate and analyse their own data using data management software. Tutor led workshops and workplace learning will support independent learning. The module is largely apprentice-led, and each apprentice is supported by supervision from a mentor within the employer¿s organisation and a member of staff within the school.

Aims
Through 15 hours of student-facing teaching supported by independent directed study. The students will develop the following attributes to apply for fitness for autonomous practice:
Full skill set for Band 5 scope of practice outlined by the regulatory body; Health and Care Professions Council, (HCPC) and
The scope of the society and college of radiographers (SCoR) within theory transposing into practice supporting the apprentice's professional development. Leadership skills will be acquired from this module to support the transition from undergraduate to knowledge-based autonomous practitioner. The fundamental framework of clinical governance, standard setting, monitoring, compliance, and management strategies will be delivered.

Intended Learning Outcomes

Independently perform a search and critique of the literature to identify and extract relevant evidence for the project.: 1
Manage, manipulate, analyse, and interpret data in an evidence-based manner (determined by the type of project conducted).: 1
Summarise, compare, contrast, and synthesise findings.: 1
Design and manage a project to completion (incorporating organisational, time management, communication, collaborative working and IT skills): 1
Formally disseminate the project findings in a professional format.: 2
