This module will develop and build upon the previous understanding of critical theories and expands on identifying how these theories (alongside organisational theories) inform social work knowledge and literature. This module will thus enhance critical thinking by analysing social work in its broader organisational and socio-political context.
Aims
The aim of the module is to develop students' understanding and knowledge of theories and literature relating to the nature of organisations and professional identity and leadership, as well as further developing an awareness of the contexts of social work and the way in which practice is organised and delivered.
Intended Learning Outcomes

Active learning hours:In situ learning:Scheduled lectures and workshops: 33 hours Engagement with specified resources (remote, asynchronous): 11independent study, remote, asynchronous: 106 hours including wider reading and assignment preparation. Students can usually expect to allocate this time as follows: 44 hours of preparation for taught sessions and group work46 hours of assignment preparation 16 hours of wider reading to follow up on specific topics of interest
