Discover a groundbreaking collaboration
Keele University and Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine are bringing together students for a world-class education in Rehabilitation and Exercise Therapy and Public Health Management. Students can look forward to:
- Dual Degree Programmes: Earn degrees from both Keele University and CDUTCM.
- Innovative Learning: Experience diverse perspectives in health and exercise therapy.
- Research Opportunities: Engage in collaborative research initiatives that shape the future of healthcare.
In 2023, our first cohort of over 200 students signed up for the two undergraduate degree programmes initially on offer through the Joint Institute - Rehabilitation and Exercise Therapy, and Public Health Management. Following the first year’s success in 2024 once again over 200 students have signed up for study with the joint institute.
"The Joint Institute provides excellent opportunities for its students to experience different perspectives and approaches to education for health professionals, becoming real global graduates. The institute will be part of a ever developing strategic partnership between our two universities and we are very excited for what the future holds." - Professor Christian Mallen
CDUTCM is a leading Chinese "National Double First Class" University with over 25,000 students and was approved by the Chinese Ministry of Education earlier this year, meaning Keele is one of around 50 UK universities with a Joint Institute in China.
The Institute offers students the opportunity to receive a dual degree from Keele and CDUTCM, and provide a basis for further degree programmes and collaborative research opportunities to be developed. All students will be taught in China however, a number of students at CDUTCM-Keele Joint Institute have visited Keele for a summer school. We hope to build on these opportunities. The joint institute is keen to help students progress on to postgraduate studies with Keele, helping to expand this ever growing relationship with CDUTCM.
Yu Shuguang, President of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, said: "We sincerely hope that the Institute becomes a paragon of win-win cooperation in higher education between China and the UK."
