Dr Clare Corness-Parr
As Chief Assistant Dean, Dr Clare Corness-Parr provides academic leadership within Keele Universities, Joint Health and Medical Sciences Institute supporting health programmes delivered jointly with Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, in China. Clare has strategic oversight of all aspects of the mission, aims and objectives of the Joint Institute, ensuring these are met within the overall context of Keele University and the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. Currently the Joint Institute has over 450 international students recruited, and Clare work closely with colleagues in CDUTCM and Keele to assure a high-quality student and staff experience. Clare is a member of the UK-China Joint Alliance through the British Council.
In Keele University, Clare is a member of the School of Nursing and Midwifery executive team. Clare is a UK Nursing and Midwifery registrant and Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Clare has a track record of nursing and midwifery educational leadership and quality assurance experience in several university settings.
Clare is NIHR Clinical Education Research chair for the Nursing, Midwifery and AHP+ workstream to raise the profile of clinical education research for NMAHP’s. She has an international role as external examiner for RCSI University in Bahrain for pre-registration nursing programmes. Clare carries a teaching portfolio for PG, dissertation at BSc and Master's and Doctoral level supervision for D. Nurse and D. Midwifery programmes and her research interests relate to nurse academic identities and contributions to the clinical practice environment.
