Keele ranked No.1 in England for Student Satisfaction
Keele University has been ranked number one in England for overall student satisfaction in the 2018 National Student Survey (NSS) of broad-based public universities.
Keele scored almost 90% for overall satisfaction, compared to the national average of 83%.
The 2018 survey, published by the Office for Students, surveyed over 320,000 students in the UK about their university experience. Students were asked about a variety of factors, including the teaching on their courses, learning opportunities and resources, academic support and feedback, the university community, their students’ union and student representation, along with their overall satisfaction with the quality of their course.
This is the fourth time that Keele University has been ranked number one of broad-based universities in the NSS.
At a subject level, Keele is ranked number one in the UK in the survey for no fewer than eight subject areas, including physical geographical sciences, environmental sciences, pharmacy, adult nursing, children's nursing, learning disabilities nursing, mental health nursing, and midwifery, and is also ranked number two in the country for medicine.
Furthermore, Keele was also ranked top five in the survey for music, and has ten other subject areas in the top ten - including chemistry, economics, human and social geography, media studies, molecular biology, biophysics and biochemistry, philosophy, astronomy, physics, and politics.
Professor Mark Ormerod, Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Provost at Keele University, commented:
“Once again, I am absolutely delighted to see our students rate us so highly in the National Student Survey.
“We are really proud of our previous achievements in the NSS, achieving consistently high levels of student satisfaction over the past 10 years, and to be No.1 in England again this year is in no small part thanks to the commitment and dedication of every member of staff at Keele, who go above and beyond to ensure that the student experience here is the best that it can be.
Alongside our exceptional graduate-level employability rate, and our TEF Gold ranking, it is clear that we offer one of the best student experiences in the country, and we will continue to enhance this over the coming year and beyond.”
