3G Sports Pitch and external works

Planning permission has been granted for the creation of a full size synthetic football pitch (a '3G') suitable for all weather play of a variety of sports at the rear of the Sports Centre. Supplementary works will see the construction of a smaller training area of the same synthetic construction, re-configuration of a section of the tennis court area to provide courts for basketball and beach volleyball, and upgrading of the existing astroturf area, surrounding access roads and pathways. The areas will be floodlit to allow evening play during winter months.

The existing running track will also be re-surfaced as part of the proposed works.

Site establishment will be carried out week commencing 31 August 2015. Construction will start week commencing 7 September 2015.
