Applied seismology
The group has experience is seismology from a global scale to a local scale. In particular, we specialise in seismic monitoring of mines and underground cavities. For many years we have monitored the local seismicity of the North Staffordshire area. We have also worked on monitoring the vibrations from windfarms and their effect on seismically sensitive installations such as the seismic array at Eskdalemuir in Scotland.
