Jack Porter
Jack is from Burnley, Lancashire and studied at Sheffield Hallam University where he graduated in 2019 with a MChem degree. His final year research project focused on the design and synthesis of third generation photosensitisers for use in photodynamic therapy, with the aim of overcoming current drawbacks such as limited bioavailability. This involved the synthesis of A3B type porphyrins that allow for conjugation of property enhancing ligands. Jack joined the group in September 2019, where his research will focus on the synthesis of modified glucose building blocks for biopolymer assembly, in conjunction with CRODA.
