Keele University has been ranked as one of the best universities in the country to study Radiography in a prestigious UK-wide assessment, just five years after the programme launched.

The university ranked 4th in the UK for Radiography in this year’s Times Good University Guide - a ranking based on an analysis of student satisfaction with teaching quality and their student experience, as well as entry standards, research quality, and graduate prospects.

Launched in 2017, the first new Radiography course in the country since 1996, the course at Keele is accredited by the Society and College of Radiographers and approved by the UK Health and Care Professions Council.

Students have the chance to learn about the core themes of the profession including radiographic science and practice, the human body, professionalism and inter-professional learning, within a state-of-the-art digital Radiography Suite which includes X-ray, mobile imaging and an image intensifier for theatre work, and a digital health hub with high resolution screens for image interpretation.

Teaching of clinical skills uses a high number of simulated patients from neonatal to adults in the form of “phantoms”, with further simulation packages to hone their practical skills. Research is fully embedded from year one to final year of the course.

Like all healthcare courses at Keele, Radiography students benefit from strong links with the NHS and private sector clinical partners for teaching and clinical placements.
