Dr Emma Healey

NIHR Research Delivery Network (RDN) appoints Keele Academic to Musculoskeletal and Orthopaedic Specialty Lead role for the West Midlands Region.
Dr Emma Healey is a Reader and Postgraduate Research Lead in the School of Medicine and has recently been appointed as the Musculoskeletal (MSK) and Orthopaedic Specialty Lead for the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Research Delivery Network (RDN) West Midlands.
Dr Healey has worked as an applied health researcher for over 20 years. She is an Exercise Scientist by background with an interest in enhancing care for people with musculoskeletal (MSK) disorders.
In her new Specialty Lead role, Dr Healey will continue the MSK focused work she previously undertook as Health and Care Research Lead for the Clinical Research Network (CRN) West Midlands, where she established the West Midlands MSK Research collaborative. Dr Healey will be responsible for the strategic oversight of the regional RDN Portfolio, building regional capacity and capability for study delivery in the Specialty and embedding research engagement and delivery into the NHS and wider care environment. She will also be a member of the NIHR Musculoskeletal & Orthopaedics National Specialty Group.
