Biography
I have been at Keele University since my undergraduate degree where I was award a BSc (Hons) Psychology and Criminology, before moving on to my MSc Clinical Psychological Research. After a year in the world of full time employment, I was drawn back to Keele to carry out my PhD in Psychology in 2013.
My MSc dissertation explored support workers’ knowledge of dementia in people with intellectual disabilities. At the same time I was working for a social care organisation as an intellectual disability support worker; a combination of this role and my research heavily influence my future my research area and my PhD project.
My research interests include intellectual disabilities, dementia, the ageing process, vulnerable groups, care provision, knowledge, qualitative research, and action research.
