My PhD research explores how communities in Japan rebuild their lives and identities after the 2011 Tsunami. The research is underpinned by the framework of classical American pragmatism established by John Dewey, Charles Sanders Pierce and William James. My research interests range from the classical American Pragmatism philosophy to community leadership, cultural identity and disaster management.
