Dr Zheng Gui Tang
Dr Tang's research is in self-assembly and guided self-assembly of macromolecules; micro- and nano-fabrication; process analytical technology; formulation and controlled release; biomaterials and tissue engineering.
His specific interests include:
- Protein and materials interaction specifically in controlled protein release
- Materials science specifically in biomedical materials, degradation, and characterisation
- Manufacturing specifically in micro- and nano- fabrications
- Chemical and biochemical analyses specifically in FTIR, HPLC, ELISA, MTT, and LDH
- Tissue fixation and calcification specifically in development of tissue heart valves
Dr Tang was previously a Research Fellow at the UK Centre for Tissue Engineering, University of Liverpool, and while Research Fellow at the Institute for Science & Technology in Medicine at Keele University was co-author of the HYANJI SCAFFOLD application to EC Framework 7 IRSES programme.
Dr Tang has been a guest professor affiliated with the College of Pharmacy and the College of Polymer Science and Engineering at Sichuan University since 2008.
Dr Tang has also held research posts at the Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology, at the Institute of Materials Research and Engineering, Singapore, and at the Graduate School of Biomedical Engineering at the University of New South Wales, Australia. His education and training 1984-87 was at the Institute of Materia Medica, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences in Beijing, and the Chengdu Institute of Organic Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Science in Chengdu, China.
