- An introduction to the STARS programme | Wednesday, 25th September 2024, 1pm - 2pm (delivered by Keele University, Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust) - To gain an understanding of STARS: Supporting the Advancement of Research Skills for developing research awareness and research expertise. - Community engagement (delivered by Staffordshire University, Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, The Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent and Shropshire Telford and Wrekin Health and Care Research Partnership (SSHERPa)) - To understand what constitutes good practice for community engagement including reaching out to underserved communities - 18 November 2024, 1-2pm - Watch here.
- Quality improvement to researcher (delivered by University Hospitals of Birmingham, University of Birmingham and Birmingham Women’s and Children’s Hospital) - To gain an understanding of the potential of improvement methods for enhancing care. - Co-creating wellbeing (Delivered by Coventry University) - To understand the “The Three Co’s Framework; To gain hands-on experience of co-creation tools
- Transitions (delivered by University of Warwick Medical School) - To understand the key challenges in the transition to clinical research - e.g. protected research time, support networks, links with clinical practice, confidence, gaining the support of line managers and access to research facilities
- What can the NIHR ever do for me? (delivered by Keele University, West Midlands Clinical Research Network, University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust) - To understand the NIHR and how opportunities can be accessed
- How can we be sure research will improve patient care? An introduction to the Knowledge-to-Care Research Group (delivered by Birmingham City University) - To understand the key approaches to ensure uptake of evidence in practice
- Real world research careers (delivered by University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust, University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust, Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust) - To understand research careers, networking and engagement
- Under-represented professions in research (delivered by Aston University, Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, University Hospital Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust) - To understand the opportunities available for under-represented professions. To recognise different needs, challenges and preferences across the disciplines
- Researcher vs research practitioner (delivered by University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust, Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, Birmingham Health Partners) - To understand clinical academic and research career pathways and opportunities to engage in research from student to registered health professionals
