Biography
Chris Midgley is Senior Lecturer in Leadership - with responsibility for apprenticeships within Keele Business School.
Before joining Keele, Chris' previous UK Higher Education roles included Senior Lecturer in Leadership at Manchester Metropolitan University; MBA / Senior Leader Apprenticeship programme director for the National College of Education; Senior Lecturer roles in Medical Leadership and Postgraduate Medical Education at Edge Hill University; and Clinical Leadership and Organisational Behaviour at Sheffield Hallam University.
Chris is a former, Regular Army Officer within the Army Education and Training Services branch, and still works part-time as an Army Reservist. With a full career in professional education, apprenticeships, and leadership development, one of Chris' most recent roles was as the lead educationalist at the Centre for Army Leadership at the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst.

Chris has a strong interest in public services leadership and senior leader development - specifically in leadership competency, transitions and boundaries in new and aspiring senior leaders.
Educationally, Chris is passionate about the use of Artificial Intelligence in learning - and the use of learning technologies in developing and enhancing accessible and inclusive learning.
In the margins, ask Chris about roller-skiing, Border Terriers, and camper vans - but have an escape plan ready when you do.
