Biography
Rotimi Ogunsakin is an accomplished scholar and professional with over ten years of experience in technology industries and academia, with a strong focus on data analytics, technology design and development, information system strategy and digital transformation. He has dedicated his career to technology and business leadership, academic and industry research, and educating young people and industry professionals. He is passionate about bridging the gap between theory and practice and empowering students and professionals with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in the digital world. He values collaboration, creativity, and impact, and strives to contribute to the advancement of science and society through teaching, research, consulting and entrepreneurship.
Rotimi Ogunsakin has a PhD in Information Systems from the Alliance Manchester Business School, University of Manchester, where he completed his PhD in three years. His doctoral thesis contributes to the digitalisation and optimisation of manufacturing operations using Computational and Artificial Intelligence, with a novel approach for self-organising manufacturing systems that accommodates real-time disruptions in production planning and processes. He holds a Master's degree with distinction in Advanced Computing and IT Management from the School of Computing at the University of Manchester, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria, where he received the prize for the best-graduating student.
Rotimi Ogunsakin's present research interests are interdisciplinary and encompass domains of computing science, information systems, digital transformation, and operations management. He has published papers in international and reputable journals. His research has been presented at numerous conferences, including those on manufacturing, computing, and intelligent systems. Also, he has been able to apply the knowledge gained through years of professional engagement in telecommunication, software engineering, enterprise information technology and technology consulting to academic research and teaching to improve and support student learning and experiences in and outside of the classroom.
He has taught computer science, information technology, databases, data analytics, and computer programming to undergraduate and graduate students at Keele and other top UK universities and supervised undergraduate students' projects and graduate students' dissertations in computer science, information systems, business analytics, supply chains, and operations management. He has collaborated with multiple organisations on research and module delivery, such as IBM, The Very Group, MongoDB and CouchDB. He is presently accepting self-funded PhD students in Data Analytics, Industry 4.0, and Artificial Intelligence and applications.

Teaching
Rotimi Ogunsakin has over a decade of experience in teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including MBA. He has taught and lead the development of modules in Data Analytics, Databases, Information Systems, Digital Strategy, Platform Strategy, Digital Business, IT Risk, Cybersecurity, IT Governance, Business IT Architecture and Distributed Systems.
