My job as a Curriculum Designer at Keele University is all about working closely with academics and other stakeholders to aid and facilitate inclusive curriculum design and authentic assessment, whilst holistically integrating Keele’s Curriculum expectations and Graduate attributes. I have a keen interest in pedagogy and reflective practice, helping to inspire academics and promote discussions around curriculum content, structure and how to create positive learning experiences for our students.
Before joining the team at Keele, I was the Curriculum Lead and Lecturer for the Level 3 Construction and the Built Environment course in the FE sector, planning effective teaching, learning and assessment methods and engaging stakeholders to participate in the development of the curriculum. During my time in FE, I have successfully supported the development and implementation of HTQs and T-Level curricula at Level 4 and 5, covering module, assessment and content design in Design and Build programmes. This has provided me an insight into the skills, aspirations and needs of students entering higher education, which I hope to bring to discussions about transitions and inclusive curriculum design.
I hold a first-class honours degree in design and have an abundance of industry experience within this sector. Beyond the realms of lecturing, I have worked in industry as a creative designer, producing inspirational trend boards and designing innovative products for the home interiors sector for major high street retailers and brands.
