Keele University shortlisted for national graduate careers award
Keele University’s Careers and Employability Team has been shortlisted for the Research Informed Practice Award at the Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services (AGCAS) Awards 2019.
The AGCAS Awards for Excellence encourage, reward and share good practice amongst Higher Education careers and employability practitioners, and their partner organisations, by promoting quality, innovative and collaborative projects and high professional standards across the full range of HE careers and employability work.
Keele’s Careers and Employability team, part of the Keele Institute for Innovation and Teaching Excellence (KIITE), has been recognised for its research into what employers look for in graduate CVs. The innovative study investigated the views of recruiters, resulting in a unique product: the CV rubric. The CV rubric and study findings are of real value to both careers professionals and academics due to their potential to support employability activities. The study is already informing practice across the sector since it was published by Prospects Luminate earlier this year.
Lisa McWilliams, Head of Careers and Employability at Keele University comments:
“We’re delighted to have been shortlisted for the Research Informed Practice Award, this research has already influenced the practice of the Careers and Employability team at Keele University and other university careers services. To be shortlisted is an impressive achievement, given the quality of research carried out by careers professionals within the AGCAS network.”
The Research Informed Practice Award is open to AGCAS member services, service collaborations and task groups contributing to the generation of new knowledge and insight that has been, or could be, used to enhance the work of AGCAS member services.
