KIITE welcomes new Head of Global Opportunities Emma Pearce
The Keele Institute for Innovation and Teaching Excellence (KIITE) is delighted to welcome Emma Pearce as the new Head of Global Opportunities.
Emma is joining KIITE to lead the development of Global Opportunities for students and staff across Keele University, contributing to the wider internationalisation strategies of the University.
The Global Opportunities Team provides opportunities for students to spend time abroad through a semester or year of study, a Faculty-led short programme, or summer school, and is also responsible for the management and development of staff mobility, through Erasmus+ Staff Mobility. The Global Opportunities Team also welcomes inbound students to Keele from all over the world.
Emma joins Keele from Durham University, where she managed the University’s Erasmus, overseas exchange and study abroad programmes including agreements, support and admissions, and delivered on ambitious and challenging student exchange targets as part of the University Strategy.
Emma comments:
“I’m delighted to have joined Keele and look forward to working with new colleagues across the institution to continue to develop the activities the Global Opportunities Team offer. Keele has a wonderful suite of opportunities for students and staff and although it’s a challenging time for student mobility across the sector, I’m excited to play a part in the further development of Keele’s internationalisation strategy.”
Professor Helen O’Sullivan, Pro Vice-Chancellor for Education at Keele University comments:
“Emma brings fantastic experience and expertise to Keele and will build on the strong foundations laid by the Global Opportunities Team. Now that the Team are in KIITE I am looking forward to seeing how student mobility becomes more integrated into the curricula of all of our subject areas. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the outgoing Head, Elissa WIlliams, for the work that she has done in building up the outstanding numbers of student exchange partnerships and mobility activities.”
