Issue 13 of the Journal Of Academic Development and Education (JADE) Published
The Keele Institute for Innovation and Teaching Excellence (KIITE) is delighted to announce that the thirteenth issue of The Journal of Academic Development and Education (JADE) has now been published.
We are extremely privileged at Keele University to have developed such a rigorous journal that reaches an internal and external audience, and develops significant prestige in relation to academic development, and learning and teaching.
JADE publishes articles, case-studies, papers, reviews, teaching tips, letters to the editors, interviews and student submissions (with a staff sponsor). Published once a year, each issue of JADE features an editorial, a broad selection of submitted research / articles, and 'highlights' which showcases brand new innovations.
It was that brilliantly accomplished and influential painter, sculptor, poet and architect Michelangelo who, at the age of 87, said “I am still learning”. Some might say that as a University we are “in the business of learning”, of encouraging a life-long ‘love of learning’ in others for it is true that the expression of our activity and the effort of our vocation is often focused on the learning of those students who study with us. However, when we come to those moments that punctuate academic life such as publishing the latest issue of JADE or the forthcoming Keele Education Conference in the New Year, it is a time to pause, to recognise and to celebrate the commitment as an academic community to our own learning as we disseminate and share our knowledge.
It is so heartening to see the breadth and depth of articles in this issue and we would like to thank our contributors and peer reviewers. We hope you enjoy reading this edition and that it will inspire you in your practice and, perhaps to send in an article of your own for the next edition.
If you have content you would like to include for future editions or you would like to work on the review process, please do contact jade@keele.ac.uk
