Research and scholarship
Research Project
Lloyd's research interests sit currently within the field of international criminal law where he currently is attempting to formulate new ideas in a dense area of the law where there is an incredible wealth of commentary. However, Lloyd is up to the challenge and would love to research the only permanent international criminal tribunal, the International Criminal Court.
Initially, Lloyd was a staunch critic of the court, holding it to account for its perceived 'Africa' bias, procedural delays and inability to get certain alleged perpetrators to the court. Nevertheless, Lloyd has now grown to become an apologist of the court, seeing its flaws but also recognising its importance in achieving international justice and bringing an end to impunity.
Lloyd wants to reinforce that this research is fluid so what he may write today may need to adapt to what happens tomorrow. He would recommend that anyone seeking to understand more about his project or about his work more generally, please contact him.
