Biography
Before embarking on my PhD, I gained an LLB in Law, and an MA in Human Rights, Globalisation and Justice at Keele. My MA dissertation focused on equality legislative frameworks and their impact on Muslim women lawyers. My PhD thesis concerns the experiences of Muslim women solicitors working within the legal profession.
My research interests include Legal Professionalism, Identity, Religion and Society.
I am a member of the Socio-Legal Studies Association, and a PGR representative for Law.

Research project
Thesis Topic (Faculty funded GTA Studentship): The Experiences of Muslim Women Solicitors Working within the Legal Profession.
My research explores the experiences of Muslim women solicitors within the Legal Profession. It is concerned particularly with how these marginal actors experience legal professional identity in a post-professional era, and with the extent to which these individuals have the capacity to, and are able to exert agency in order to, influence the structural forces within the profession.
