Commercial Clinic
Our Commercial Clinic is supervised by Sonja Dale. Within this clinic students will be able to advise clients in relation to their business entities, directors duties, terms and conditions of business and in some cases can advise on contracts for the provision of goods and/or services. This commercial legal work experience provides an introduction to the work commonly done by general commercial lawyers at man law firms and provides a valuable legal service to start ups and SMEs.
Our student advisors will be taking initial instructions from clients, drafting attendance notes, letters of advice, draft terms and conditions of business, advise on business entities and draft basic documentation under the supervision of a solicitor employed by the University.
The Commercial clinic operates a drop-in clinic that runs on a once a week basis from Keele Library. However, students within the Commercial Clinic can also expect to have pre-arranged meetings with clients via MS Teams or face to face.
Students volunteering for this clinic should be available for 4 hours per week to run drop-in sessions, meet with clients, research or work on client advice/documents.
